Summary: Having come back to town after living what Jake supposed was his rock and roll dream, he finds himself walking with ghosts as he relives his most important relationship: Drew. When he notices a musician in the subway one day, he feels a connection. Will that spark help bring him back to music, back to life?

originalbigbang. Story's title comes from the Riverboat Gamblers' "A Choppy Yet Sincere Apology" which was very much on my playlist for this story.
